The Cardboard Portraits series depicts various urban characters. I tear apart and re-assemble pieces of newsprint cutouts to create portraits inspired by my observation of people living on the New York City streets. The characters' body often merge with their environment or with the objects they surround themselves with. At times, my characters become mythological or ancient figures who use to play a role in the place they used to inhabit: The Druidess, The Knight, The Shepherd, The Amazon, The Sailor...
